SpeakLab ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data is collected when you use our iOS app and how it is used.
Voice recordings. When you use the pronunciation or conversation features, your voice is recorded temporarily to perform speech recognition and pronunciation assessment. Recordings are processed on-device (Apple Speech) or sent to third-party AI services (OpenAI, Google, or Microsoft Azure) solely to return a result. We do not store your recordings on our servers.
Usage data. We count how many times you use certain features per day to enforce plan limits. This count is stored only on your device using iOS UserDefaults and is never transmitted to us.
API keys (optional). If you enter your own API keys for OpenAI, Google, or Azure, they are stored locally on your device using iOS secure storage and are never sent to us.
Depending on your settings, SpeakLab may send audio or text to the following services to provide app features:
Data sent to these services is governed by their respective privacy policies. We do not sell or share your data with any other third parties.
Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store any payment information.
SpeakLab is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We do not maintain user accounts or store personal data on our servers. All app data (usage counters, settings, cached AI responses) is stored locally on your device and can be cleared at any time from the app's Settings → Clear Cache screen.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
